A Brief Song About Time
They say we’re running out of time
Looks to me like it goes on forever
It’s all mixed up with space and light and stuff
Oh they tell me it’s really hard to measure
Yeh, yeh, yeh… Yeh, yeh, yeh
Yeh, yeh, yeh… Yeh, yeh, yeh
Ate a clock at half past seven, now I can’t tell the time
But I have it on my hands, when my hands are mine
When my hands are mine, when my hands are mine
Gotta make some time to do my updates
Updating takes up all my time
Never hesitate to do your updates
Cos you can’t be late, you can’t be late, you can’t be late
Yeh, yeh, yeh… Yeh, yeh, yeh
Yeh, yeh, yeh… Yeh, yeh, yeh
Ate a clock at half past seven, now I can’t tell the time
But I have it on my hands, when my hands are mine
When my hands are mine, when my hands are mine
Ain’t got no time for space in my life
Ain’t got no space for time in my life
Ain’t got no time, no space, no life at all
Ain’t got no space for time in my life
Yeh, yeh, yeh… Yeh, yeh, yeh
Yeh, yeh, yeh… Yeh, yeh, yeh
Eight o’clock at half past seven, now I can’t tell the time
But I have it on my hands, when my hands are mine
When my hands are mine, when my hands are mine

Freight Train
04:30
|
|||
I was driving down in the south of France
With a hundred bucks and a broken van
Thinking about that girl I used to love before
Haven't seen her for some time
Thought I might go by
When the memory came flooding back
When she closed that door
Wish I was a freight train baby
A diesel locomotive
Come whistling down your track
Come crashing through your door
Wish I was a freight train baby
Wish I didn't have a heart
Need a shovel for the coal
Just to get me started
Wish I was a freight train baby
Wish I was a freight train
Every time I talk to you
Hear your jealous lies
You said that you’de been left abandoned
On some old railroad side
And every time I get close
My water just gets cold
My stoker will not stoke
And my boiler will not boil
Wish I was a freight train baby
A diesel locomotive
Come whistling down your track
Come crashing through your door
Wish I was a freight train baby
Wish I didn't have a heart
Need a shovel for the coal
Just to get me started
Wish I was a freight train baby
Wish I was a freight train
Wish I was a freight train baby
A diesel locomotive
Come whistling down your track
Come crashing through your door
Wish I was a freight train baby
Wish I didn't have a heart
Need a shovel for the coal
Just to get me started
Wish I was a freight train baby
Wish I was a freight train

Crazy Dreams
05:10
|
|||
Rolling round from town to town
East to west and up and down
The bag of weed is getting light
I might not get no sleep tonight
Crazy dreams just like DTs
Envelope me in the deep
Wake me up at half past three
I’m afraid to go back to sleep
Afraid to sleep
We’re thinking of bed or zero zero
But we don’t have that much hope
If you want to be our hero
We would settle for a little soap
Crazy dreams just like DTs
Envelope me in the deep
Wake me up at half past three
I’m afraid to go back to sleep
Afraid to sleep
My smoking pipe is clean as a whistle
My mind it feels as sharp as a thistle
Asking Bob Hope for some old rope
Buddy can you spare a smoke
Crazy dreams just like DTs
Envelope me in the deep
Wake me up at half past three
I’m afraid to go back to sleep
Afraid to sleep
Arriving into these strange places
You can see it written on our faces
Asking Bob Hope for some old rope
Buddy can you spare a smoke
Crazy dreams just like DTs
Envelope me in the deep
Wake me up at half past three
I’m afraid to go back to sleep
Afraid to sleep

Face the Wind
03:49
|
|||
My head is spinning
But my feet are on the ground
My thoughts are racing
But my body it feels sound
Am I really winning
Or am I just spacing
In this new beginning
That I’m now facing
It’s time to face the wind
Head on let’s begin
It’s time to face the wind
Head on, head on, now, let’s begin
I got this feeling
Going on up in my mind
So I put it in darkness
Till the end of my time
Am I really winning
Or am I just spacing
In this new beginning
That I’m now facing
It’s time to face the wind
Head on let’s begin
It’s time to face the wind
Head on, head on, now, let’s begin
Sometimes I don’t know what to say
Who to be, who to see, who to play
Then I go and get lucky
Some girl she gonna love me
Am I really winning
Or am I just spacing
In this new beginning
That I’m now facing
It’s time to face the wind
Head on let’s begin
It’s time to face the wind
Head on, head on, now, let’s begin

Code of the Road
04:20
|
|||
The universe will provide
Has been my guide for some time now
So let’s enjoy the ride
Enjoy the ride
We ain’t got much
But what we have we share
Living by the code of the road
We’re moving round
Here there and everywhere
Hobos ain’t carrying no load
We’re looking rough and ready
The rougher the better
Never underestimate your hobo man
Only half dressed and half awake
And still half drunk
Hobo life is the life for me
Got my hands in my pockets
And the old rogues eloquent prose
Recognising a superior in no-one
That’s how it goes
We ain’t got much
But what we have we share
Living by the code of the road
We’re moving round
Here there and everywhere
Hobos ain’t carrying no load
I have never cared to sit in chairs
In which old kings have sat
Or to wear their crowns upon my head
Replace my hat
Don’t touch my head
Don’t touch my hat
I will not doff my cap
To you
We ain’t got much
But what we have we share
Living by the code of the road
We’re moving round
Here there and everywhere
Hobos ain’t carrying no load

Ryder Road Records
Frank Ryder, a fifty something singer songwriter from Dublin, was disillusioned with record labels. Even the independents didn't seem to want to cater for older unknown musicians. So he started his own, Ryder Road Records. In 2018, using the punk DIY ethics Frank remembered from his youth, he and his partner Sam set up their own record label to record their own material and print their own CDs. ... more
